Whether it’s a burger, salad, or lunch special, the demand for takeout food is booming, and more and more restaurants are offering their dishes to go. However, to ensure that takeout dishes retain their temperature and taste as well as possible, they must be carefully packaged – and that usually means a lot of disposable packaging and, thus, waste. This is why many businesses are already using reusable packaging that can be cleaned and reused after use. And with the planned revision of the PPWR packaging regulation, the EU is also aiming for a 10% quota of reusable packaging in the takeout business of catering establishments by 2030.
